Our commitment

Allmarque PMS Ltd, trading as Roman Road Marking, is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions across our UK operations by 2050 at the latest โ€” aligned with the UK Government's legally binding target under the Climate Change Act 2008.

As a road marking contractor operating diesel-powered HGV and van fleets, we recognise that decarbonising our vehicle fleet is our most significant opportunity and obligation. We measure, manage and reduce our carbon emissions year on year, and we support our clients โ€” local authorities, trunk road agents, schools, developers and private landowners โ€” in meeting their own sustainability objectives.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared in accordance with Procurement Policy Note 06/21 (PPN 06/21) and the associated Technical Standard for the Completion of Carbon Reduction Plans published by the UK Cabinet Office.

What we're doing now

These measures are already in place across our depot, fleet and on-site operations:

Euro 6 fleet upgrade

All vehicles are being progressively upgraded to Euro 6 emission standard โ€” significantly lower NOx and particulate emissions, plus better fuel efficiency.

Electric van in operation

One fully electric van is in service for local site visits, eliminating direct emissions from those journeys.

Route optimisation

Daily route planning across all HGV and van journeys to minimise unnecessary mileage and idling time.

Driver training

Fuel-efficient driving is built into our driver induction and ongoing training programme.

No-idling policy

An enforced no-unnecessary-idling policy across all depot operations and on-site working.

LED depot lighting

The depot and office have been partially converted to LED lighting to reduce electricity consumption.

Waste segregation

Paint and solvent waste is segregated at the depot for specialist disposal, minimising landfill.

Planned vehicle maintenance

All fleet vehicles follow a regular maintenance schedule to keep them operating at optimal fuel efficiency.
