REMOVAL METHODS

Hydroblasting (Water Blasting)

Ultra-high-pressure water strips markings completely. The preferred method for most highway applications. Environmentally friendly — no chemicals used.

Blacking Out

Covering existing markings with black overlay material to obscure them. The fastest and most cost-effective method for temporary changes, road works and situations where blasting is impractical. Not a permanent solution as underlying markings may re-emerge.

Burning Off

Propane-fired equipment softens thermoplastic markings which are then scraped from the surface. Effective for thick thermoplastic, typically used alongside other methods for complete removal.

WHEN IS REMOVAL NEEDED?

Legal requirement: Under TSRGD, incorrect or conflicting road markings are a legal liability. Highway authorities must ensure markings accurately reflect current traffic management. Our removal services help councils meet this obligation.
